I’ve been working as a trainee quantity surveyor for just over a month now, and it's already been a fantastic learning experience. I've gained insight into procurement schedules, tender processes, and how to send enquiries to subcontractors. I feel like I've learned a lot in a short time, and it’s been exciting to be involved in real projects—especially the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which has just started. It’s great to see the early stages and understand the work that goes into it. The apprenticeship has allowed me to work alongside experienced professionals and develop valuable skills at a young age. I’d 100% recommend an apprenticeship to anyone interested in construction and finance—it’s a brilliant way to learn while gaining hands-on experience. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow in the role and take on more responsibility as I progress.
